Konstam at the Prince Albert opened in April 2006, having been the central feature of BBC 2′s ten-part series The Urban Chef. The work included the fitting out of the ground floor with an open kitchen and a seating area for 45 diners. A second staircase was constructed to provide an additional entry and escape point from the basement, which was also fitted out to include an additional seating area for 24 diners, a prep kitchen, WC’s manager’s office and food storage areas.
